Fresh Flower Care
Fresh flowers are living things — with a little attention, you can enjoy them for up to two weeks. The key is clean water, cool conditions, and regular trimming.
Follow these six tips to get the most out of your bouquet.
They follow the same practice the Royal Horticultural Society sets out in its guide to cutting and conditioning cut flowers (opens in new tab), which is worth reading if you also arrange your own.
Trim the Stems
Cut 2–3 cm off the stems at a 45° angle before placing in water. Re-trim every 2–3 days to keep them drinking well.
Fresh Water Daily
Change the water every day or two. Clean the vase each time to prevent bacteria, which shortens flower life.
Keep Cool
Display away from direct sunlight, radiators, and fruit bowls. Heat and ethylene gas from fruit cause flowers to wilt faster.
Remove Lower Leaves
Strip any foliage that sits below the waterline. Submerged leaves rot and breed bacteria.
Use Flower Food
If we include a sachet of flower food, use it — it contains nutrients and antibacterial agents that help blooms last.
Mind the Placement
A cool spot with indirect light is ideal. Avoid draughty windowsills and areas near ovens or kettles.

Preserved Flower Care
Preserved flowers are real blooms treated to hold their colour and softness without water. Kept dry, out of direct sunlight and away from humidity, preserved flowers last many years, longer still under glass — in everyday use, expect 3+ years — longer with proper care. They're low-maintenance but not zero-maintenance — a little attention is exactly what buys you those extra years.
The main enemies are sunlight, moisture, and dust.
Avoid Direct Sunlight
UV light fades the colours over time. Display in a spot with indirect or ambient light for the longest life.
No Water Needed
Preserved flowers don't need water — in fact, moisture is their enemy. Keep them dry at all times.
Moderate Humidity
High humidity can cause petals to soften or discolour. Avoid bathrooms and kitchens if possible.
Gentle Dusting
Use a soft brush or a cool hairdryer on the lowest setting to remove dust. Never use water or cleaning sprays.

Crocheted Flower Care
Hand-crocheted arrangements last 3+ years — indefinite with proper care. With basic care — out of direct sunlight, dusted now and then — crochet flowers last indefinitely: there's nothing in them to wilt, drop or decay, and in everyday use most people find they still look their best 3+ years on. No water, and nothing to shed. They're the most durable option we offer and completely allergy-friendly.
Handle them gently, keep them out of strong sunlight, and they will still look right years from now — some of our earliest customers still have theirs on display five years on. Browse our crochet flowers collection.
Handle with Care
Crocheted flowers are durable but delicate in detail. Avoid pulling or stretching individual petals.
Spot Clean Only
If needed, gently dab with a damp cloth. Don't submerge in water or machine wash.
Keep Away from Direct Sun
Prolonged sunlight can fade yarn colours over time. A shaded display spot keeps them vibrant.
Store Carefully
If storing, place in a breathable bag or box — not plastic. Avoid crushing to maintain their shape.
